The small little village of El Chaltén at the foot of Mount Fitz Roy (right) and frosty Cerro Torre (left)...The village is the stopping point for backpackers (trekkers) to these Patagonian peaks. We had a "fun" time stocking up with food from the little grocery store in the town -- unable to find the familiar foods. We could find no porridge or hot cereal of any kind and had to settle for pablum (baby cereal)! The town is also mercilessly windy and especially nasty with dirt/gravel roads throughout the town -- tricky if you wear contact lenses. You can see a dust cloud in the lower left.
