We spent the 5th day of our backpack into this region wandering down the Tombstone Valley toward Tombstone Mountain. It was cloudy most of the day until around sunset (8:18pm here) when the sun slipped under the clouds to light up the granite shards of the Mt. Monolith pluton. If you look at the large image of this you can see some of the incredible jagginess of the rock.
