On our descent of Cirque Peak, we watched a family of ptarmigans foraging near a small tarn. They usually blend in so well with the surrounding rocks that you sometimes almost step on them to notice their presence. These guys seemed undisturbed by our sitting close to them as they continued to comfortably nibble on flower buds and various mossy bits.
